The DfE has just released the latest official set of statistics on childcare and early years provision in England. The figures are hugely detailed, covering such areas as numbers of available places, staff qualifications, costs and much more. Among the trends highlighted in this year's survey are a continuing increase in the number of daycare providers, but an ongoing decline in the numbers of registered childminders.
