What Makes Great Teaching

A new report from the Sutton Trust made a bit of a splash on Friday. What Makes Great Teaching is a research review which looks at previous studies to try to build a picture of what exactly constitutes effective pedagogy. The report is very detailed but has primarily made headlines for its claim that more 'traditional' teaching styles are more effective in aiding learning.

You can read the full report by clicking here. The Sutton Trust is also responsible for the Teaching & Learning Toolkit, which evaluates the cost and effectiveness of a range of different teaching approaches.
